Who Are You Really Voting For?

Research your vote!

Normally this site is all about trying to convince you to vote below the line to avoid letting the parties decide where your preferences end up. In New South Wales, however, group voting tickets don't exist!

In New South Wales state elections for the Legislative Council you can number ONE OR MORE boxes ABOVE the line to vote for those groups in your preferred order. Alternatively you can number FIFTEEN OR MORE boxes BELOW the line to preference individual candidates. You MUST number at least ONE above the line or FIFTEEN below the line for your vote to be formal.

Due to this, this site has been set up purely as a tool for you to find out about the parties and candidates via the party links and also to be able to consider your vote before the day. I hope you find it useful.

Due to the differences in New South Wales to the Federal system, I haven't properly tested the PDF generation yet. New South Wales only has one ballot for the entire Legislative Council which means there's over 300 candidates. Previously I've only had to deal with 80-odd. I'll do my best to ensure this is working before polling day.
